Hi, I'm Chris — an independent maker and software builder based in the Netherlands. For years, whenever I needed a digital utility or web application to get work done, I ran into the same frustrating pattern across the internet: bloated interfaces overloaded with deceptive buttons, forced account registrations, dark-pattern subscription paywalls, and tools that quietly uploaded private files to unknown remote servers.
I wasn't a venture-funded corporation with a twenty-person engineering department. What I had was a deep fascination with modern web technology, a sharp eye for clean interface design, and the determination to build software the way it should be: honest, instantaneous, and 100% respectful of the user's privacy.
By combining modern AI-assisted software engineering with powerful browser standards like WebAssembly (WASM), HTML5 Canvas, Web Workers, and WebGPU, I set out to prove that an independent solo creator can engineer production-grade software that runs entirely on the user's own hardware.
I founded MayPixels (maypixels.com) as the central studio umbrella for everything I create — a single home that unites my current and upcoming applications under one recognizable brand, one quality standard, and one uncompromising privacy covenant.
Why "MayPixels"?
Just like the tsunami of individual pixels on our homepage that surge together to form a crystal-clear wordmark, great software is built by obsessing over thousands of tiny, thoughtful details. Every button state, keyboard shortcut, local worker thread, and dark-mode contrast ratio is a single pixel in a larger craft.
One Parent Studio, Multiple Standalone Apps
MayPixels is the parent organization and official store publisher across the Web, Microsoft Store, Amazon Appstore, Google Play, and Samsung Galaxy Store. Rather than cramming every idea into a single website, MayPixels incubates and publishes dedicated, standalone applications under one trusted studio banner.
